Founded in 2019 by a group of Kiwi paddlers brought together through Singapore’s annual Country of Origin event, KWA celebrates the Kiwi spirit and shares it with the community.
As the only outrigger club paddling on Singapore’s East Coast, KWA offers access to exciting open-water adventures. Open to all, whether you're eager to learn waka, explore kapa haka, or join a warm and welcoming whānau, KWA is where passion meets community.
KAPA HAKA
Our club members have the unique opportunity to learn and perform kapa haka, including waiata (song) and haka (dance). You’ll discover the deep history and significance behind these powerful practices while feeling the joy and energy they bring.
KWA often performs at events, showcasing and sharing New Zealand's cultural heritage right here in Singapore. It's an experience like no other and a chance to be part of something truly special.
YOUTH
At the core of what we do is the Māori concept of whānau, broadly defined as extended family or family group. We aim to regularly host events that include all members of the family. While youth paddlers generally do not join our regular club training, we do have seasonal youth training programmes and other opportunities for youth paddlers to experience the thrill of ocean paddling.
